Chemistry Bumper Cars: What's Up at UNIST?

UNIST Distinguished Professor
Bartosz Grzybowski
We bloggers love to joke about the latest high-profile "poach" of a faculty member by prestigious universities. But what if the university in question has only existed for a handful of years?

Such is the case with UNIST, the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, which opened for business in 2009. Just a few hours' drive inland from the southeast coast of Korea, its shiny new research campus has attracted quite a few faculty moves in the past 2 years. The most recent hire - Bartosz Grzybowski, formerly of Northwestern - joins an interesting expat roster which includes a 30-year vet of UIUC and two former UT-Austin chemists.

Keep an eye on UNIST; talent often accretes around big hires, and Grzybowski's certainly one.
