Chemistry Bumper Cars: 2016-2017

Sometimes great science means changing the view outside your office lab windows.
(Bonus: This usually comes with a new title and some filthy lucre, too!)

The people have spoken: last year's list has grown ungainly, and so it's time for a new batch.
Same rules apply: If you hear of a move, tell me in the comments, and I'll post in the "Pending Confirmation" section. Escape from pending purgatory involves sending me a link or other documentation from the new institution. Fair enough?

    1. PSU has hired aggressively in the past four years, I think they are doing quite well despite the problems you are describing. Why are you concerned?

      Delete
    2. I would agree that the department as a whole is doing well, but the organic department is pretty bare. Weinreb, Funk, and Feldman are all wrapped up/wrapping up and are no longer taking students, while Chen is pretty much completely transferred to a school in China. The only 2 left (Phillips and Radosevich), are heavily rumored to want to leave, and I know at least one of them is actively seeking offers. They have given offers to at least 2 junior organic candidates (Kamil Godula and Ellen Sletten) and at least 1 senior organic candidate (Eric Anslyn) in the past few years, none of whom ending up coming

  85. As a former Rovis group member he has announced to the group he was seriously considering offers only to turn them down eventually. At one point we all thought we were moving to U Washington and a couple of years later Cornell. Not saying it won't happen but he hasn't made a secret of serious offers in the past.
